Athletes and Teas in Paris 2024

Deportistas y tés en Paris 2024

Now that the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are approaching, it's good to remember that tea and sport always go hand in hand, as more and more athletes are replacing coffee with tea. Tea offers more benefits for our body and provides us with the necessary energy.

For athletes, one of the best benefits of tea is its caffeine content, which is lower than in coffee. Therefore, it also acts as an energetic stimulant but in smaller doses. Black tea, for example, which is the strongest of teas, has a caffeine content averaging 50-70 mg per cup. To give you an idea, a pregnant woman can consume up to 200mg per day, so it provides energy without making us jittery like coffee. Furthermore, as we discussed in another article, tea does not cause nervousness or stress; quite the opposite, it aids concentration. It is also a good option for people who are more intolerant to caffeine and whose sleep is disrupted, as its lower theine level allows them to fall asleep naturally.

If you're thinking of exercising, going for a walk, or hitting the gym, drinking tea can be an excellent option to stay active throughout the day and enjoy all its properties, which are plentiful.
